Team Philips back to Totnes
- Since the incident that occurred during her first sea trials, Team Philips,
after having recovered the piece torn off her port hull is currently on the
way back to Totnes (Devon). The construction team is investigating the
problem encountered by the boat and is now waiting for the right weather
conditions to haul her out. Pete Goss, very confident, thinks they will have
decided on what type of repair is to be carried out within a fortnight, and
on the follow-up to the programme.
Club Med launching in early May
- Last press visit to see the catamaran Club Med before launching.
Wednesday April 5th at 10.30 in Vannes (France) will be the last occasion
for the press to see the catamaran Club Med (33.50 m) whose construction is
coming to an end at the Multiplast yard, before launching. The boat will
then move into the final stages of her build : the painting in the colours
of her partners (Club Med and Danone). The boat will be launched as planned
at the beginning of May, before starting her programme of sea trials and
working up.
Bruno Peyron briefing on the 13th April

A press breakfast is being organised in Paris on Thursday 13th April at
09.00 for a briefing on the organisation of The Race at less than 10 months
from the start. Bruno Peyron will be using the occasion to announce his
decision concerning his possible participation in the event.
