Firefly Nationals at Llandudno Sailing Club - Day 4

Author: Steven Greaves

As is traditional at the Firefly nationals, Wednesday's non championship races
are for the Sir Ralph Gore Challenge Cup and the Marlow Ropes Trophy. The top
half of the fleet from the first half of the week race in the Gore, and everyone
else races in the Marlow. The Gore is traditionally four laps of a triangular
course, with each leg being a mile long.

After a monumental night on Tuesday the turn up for the start was slightly
diminished, but the racing was no less tight. The wind was incredibly fickle
over the first couple of legs as the apparent wind battled with the forecast
wind, but eventually the force 4 -6 won out.

After several hours of racing Steve Tylecote, crewed by Debs Kershaw won the
Gore Trophy, and his girlfriend Fiona Coates, crewed by Alice, was the eventual
winner in the Marlow Trophy.

All attention is now fixed on the now legendary antics of Big Wednesday's
party's.
